I can confirm through a great source that DePaul will name Rick Carter as their new associate head basketball coach.  Carter has most recently been an assistant on Chris Mack’s staff at Xavier and has also worked at Michigan State, Fairfield, Western Michigan, and Missouri.  He and new Blue Demons head coach Dave Leitao have previously worked together as assistants on Frank Haith’s staff at Mizzou.  Carter is known for his strong Midwest recruiting ties.  I have also heard that current assistant Billy Garrett will be retained by Leitao.  Garrett has been at DePaul since 2009 – he worked for Jerry Wainwright for one season, and Oliver Purnell for the past five seasons.
