Meehan Named Bucknell’s Director of Basketball Operations

Former Lebanon Valley men’s basketball standout Joe Meehan `12 was named the Manager of Basketball Operations of Bucknell’s men’s basketball program late last month.

Meehan takes over at Bucknell after a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Randolph-Macon. During his time there, the Yellow Jackets tied a program record by winning 28 games this past season, including a school-record 25 straight while finishing undefeated in conference play. Randolph-Macon capped its 2015 campaign NCAA tournament Elite Eight appearance. In 2013-14, the Yellow Jackets clinched a regular-season conference title and earned an at-large bid in the NCAA tourney.

Meehan was a three-year captain and three-time all-Commonwealth Conference pick for the Flying Dutchmen, was twice named NABC All-Region, and earned d3hoops.com All-Region honors in 2010-11. He was a preseason all-America pick in 2011-12 and was voted the MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year in 2009-10. Meehan graduated with his degree in biology in 2012 and went on to play for BCKE in Switzerland, averaging 18 points, five assists, and four steals per game while also coaching a semi-pro team there.

He ranks top-ten all-time on the Lebanon Valley career scoring list and tallied more than 1,600 points, 500 assists, and 200 steals during his career.
