HoopDirt.com can confirm that Canisius head coach Jim Baron will hire Cory Macchioni as his new director of basketball operations.  Macchioni served as a student manager under Baron for four seasons at the University of Rhode Island, and followed him to Canisius where he was a graduate assistant.  For the past year, Macchioni served as the vice president and director of basketball operations for the Providence Sky Chiefs (ABA).  He will replace Chuck Harris who departed a few weeks ago to become an assistant at Indiana (PA).  The official announcement is expected shortly.
