Daily Round-up – 12/9/15

  • Arizona State granted reporter Doug Haller from Azcentral.com full access to practice, film sessions, and team meals on the Sun Devils recent trip to Creighton.  See how new head coach Bobby Hurley is doing during his first month of the regular season at ASU:  ASU All-Access
  • A new AD in town at Central Florida makes it interesting for head coach Donnie Jones.  According to the Orlando Sentinel, Jones is under review by new AD Danny White.  Some interesting facts about White:  He played guard at Notre Dame; his father, Kevin, is the AD at Duke, and his brother, Mike, is the head basketball coach at Florida.  White made a splash in his previous spot at Buffalo by hiring Bobby Hurley (before he left for ASU).  Here’s the article from the Sentinel: UCF basketball coach Donnie Jones under review by new AD
  • Army head coach Zach Spiker wore a sweater on the sidelines last night vs. Bryant in honor of the 50th anniversary of Bob Knight’s first-career coaching victory (71-62 over Worcester Tech, Dec. 8, 1965).  A great gesture by Spiker – more from FoxSports.com here.
  • After defeating Florida last night, Miami head coach Jim Larranaga attempted the Whip and Nae Nae in the locker room.  It was kind of like a car accident on the highway – I really didn’t want to look, but I had to.  You can judge for yourself…Larranaga’s Whip and Nae Nae.
  • HoopDirt.com‘s Coach of the Week award winners for week 3 of the college basketball season were released on Monday.  It’s a great group of coaches who have their teams ROLLING….incase you missed it, head this way: WEEK 3: HoopDirt.com Coach of the Week.
