Baylor assistant coach Grant McCasland will become the next head coach at Arkansas State according to an ESPN report. HoopDirt.com named McCasland as a candidate for this job back on 3/10 (DI Search Updates).
McCasland, a Baylor alum, has been on the Bears for the past five years. Before that, he was the head coach at Midland College (2004-09) and Midwestern State (2009-11). He led Midland to the 2006-07 NJCAA National Championship, and took Midwestern State to two NCAA DII Elite Eight’s. McCasland’s career record as a head coach is 199-44.
The official announcement is expected as early as today.
