Stony Brook head men’s basketball coach Jeff Boals announced the addition of Bryan Weber and Andrew Goldstein to his staff.
Weber will serve as an assistant coach, while Goldstein will be Director of Basketball Operations.
“I’m extremely excited that Bryan and Andrew are joining the Stony Brook family. Both are highly motivated and hard-working individuals who will be a great addition to our team, University and community,” Boals said.
Weber joins Stony Brook after spending three seasons with the Hoop Group in New Jersey, serving as Director of Operations for one season and Director of Hoop Group Elite for two.
The Hoop Group is the nation’s biggest exposure camp for the best high school players in the country.
Among the various players he worked with at the Hoop Group were Villanova’s Ryan Arcidiacono, St. John’s’ Kassoum Yakwe and Kansas’ Cheick Diallo.
Weber was a graduate assistant at the University of Miami in 2012-13. The Hurricanes won the regular season and ACC Championships and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 13 years.
Miami became the first ACC school since 1974 to win the regular season and tournament championships in the same year.
He was on staff at Akron as Director of Operations in 2011-12, when the Zips captured their first Mid-American Conference regular season title.
While attaining his degree at Akron, Weber was a varsity assistant coach at GlenOak High School. He coached AAU with the Ohio Shooting Stars, which sent several players to Division I schools.
Goldstein joins the staff after spending two seasons as the assistant video coordinator at Ohio State.
In his role, Goldstein helped in the overall operation of the basketball program, assisting the video coordinator with scouting reports.
Goldstein played for the Buckeyes in 2012-13 and 2013-14 as they earned a pair of berths in NCAA Tournaments.
A native of New Jersey, Goldstein earned a degree in physical education from Ohio State in 2014.
