Thanks to a great source who got us out in front of this one last week. It’s now been made official that Tommy Brown has been tabbed as the next Head Basketball Coach at Webber International University.
Coach Brown brings with him 18 years of experience as a head coach. At the age of 45, he boasts 379 career wins. He has been named a conference coach of the year 6 times in his career. In 2007-08 he was named the NAIA National Coach of the Year. At the high school level, Brown has amassed a 92-21 overall record.
Tommy Brown completed his Bachelors of Arts with concentration in Interdisciplinary Studies at Covenant College located in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. He then furthered his education at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, with a Master’s in Education and a concentration in Physical Education.
Brown’s coaching experience includes; assistant men’s basketball coach at Chattanooga St. Community College, head boys’ basketball coach at Orangewood Christian School, assistant men’s basketball coach at Belhaven College, head men’s basketball and golf coach at Bluefield College, head men’s basketball coach at Lee University and women’s assistant coach at the University of Illinois.
In the 2004-05 academic year, Brown was also the Director of Athletics at Bluefield College.

With 22 years of overall coaching experience, coach Brown has been a part of 13 straight 20 win seasons. He brings a tireless work effort and a determination to build the Webber program, by first and foremost graduating student athletes, followed by winning championships.
