Tevin Baskin Joins Bridgewater College Men’s Basketball Staff

Bridgewater College men’s basketball head coach Shawn Postiglione has announced the addition of Tevin Baskin to the Eagles’ coaching staff for the 2017-18 season.

“Tevin’s skills and experiences as a Division I and professional player, and as a college coach, will complement our staff well. Our student-athletes will benefit from having him as a mentor. I am excited to add him to our staff and get to work,” Postiglione said.

This past season Baskin started his collegiate coaching career, serving on the staff at Northwest Florida State College where he worked with the wings and post players. The 2016-17 Raiders’ squad was ranked No. 1 in the Sporting News Junior College preseason poll and won the Panhandle Conference championship while putting together the first undefeated conference season in school history. The Raiders’ season ended with a loss in the junior college national championship Final Four.

After a stellar high school career at Trinity Catholic in Connecticut, Baskin started his college playing career at Quinnipiac and, after one season, transferred to Chipola College where he helped the squad post a 26-3 record. Chipola was ousted in the first round of the national junior college tournament.

Baskin completed his collegiate career at Appalachian State University. He played in all 31 games as a junior and scored in double figures 18 times. During his senior season, he scored a season-high 24 points against ACC foe N.C. State.

Following his final season of college basketball, Baskin played two years of professional basketball in Mexico.

Baskin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communication studies with a minor in sociology from Appalachian State.
