The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg is pleased to announce the hiring of Brody Jackson as its head men’s basketball coach. He comes to Pitt-Greensburg after six seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Mount Union, working with Head Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Fuline.
“We are excited to have Brody join our staff,” said Anthony Berich, Director of Athletics at Pitt-Greensburg. “He comes to us from an outstanding program at Mount Union where he excelled under the tutelage of Coach Mike Fuline. We look forward to Brody bringing the same energy and passion to Pitt-Greensburg basketball. His past success as a student-athlete has served him well as a coach, and we are excited to have him lead our program.”
As a member of the Mount Union men’s basketball coaching staff, Jackson has contributed to the team’s accomplishments that include an NCAA Division III Championship Tournament appearance, an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) regular season title, an OAC Championship Tournament title, and six new school records, including points scored in a season as well as three-pointers made in a game and season.
“I would like to thank Dr. Smith and Mr. Berich, along with the rest of the search committee, for giving me this opportunity to be the head coach of the Pitt-Greensburg men’s basketball program,” said Jackson. “I loved the close knit feel of the campus community and desire to build a blue collar program that this University can be proud of and wants to support.”

They are all a part of my family now. In the Jackson family you get pushed hard and you get loved just as hard. I want to make this the best years of their life and have memories that they will never forget.”
Jackson got an early taste of that success in his first season when the Purple Raiders upset second-seeded Capital University and advanced to the 2014 OAC Championship for the third time in the school’s history and its first appearance since 2004.
An experienced recruiter, Jackson saw his efforts come to fruition through the team’s achievements during the 2014-15 season: Mount Union captured its first OAC tournament title since 1997 and advanced to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Division III men’s basketball tournament.
Jackson’s guidance contributed to the Purple Raiders compiling a 90-49 overall record and having eight players earn All-OAC honors, including DeAllen Jackson, the 2017 OAC Player of the Year. As a member of the coaching staff, Jackson also contributed to Mount Union posting the most wins ever in a five-year period and back-to-back 20-win campaigns for the first time in program history.
His prior experience includes serving three years as a head coach at Middlesex and Rappahannock high schools in Virginia, as well as working as a special education teacher and camp counselor.
A native of Akron, OH, Jackson was a three-year starter at Bethany College (WV) where he led the Bison to three Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) titles. He continues to be ranked among the top-10 basketball players in Bison history holding records in assists, three-pointers, three-point percentage, free-throw percentage, and games played.
Jackson graduated from Bethany College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and recently earned a master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine.
