Sean Clores Promoted to Associate Head Coach at John Jay College

After completing his second season as an assistant coach for the Bloodhound’s men’s basketball team, Coach Ryan Hyland has announced that Sean Clores has been promoted to associate head coach for the 2017-18 season.

“Sean deserves this, and so much more for all that he does for our program on a day to day basis,” Hyland said. “He is an integral part of everything we are trying to build our program to be. He had an immediate impact upon joining us here and since then has worn many hats for us. Sean has taken over the coordination of our recruiting efforts and he’s organized all of our defensive game planning. In addition to all of that, he has handled much of our film and scouting breakdown over these past two seasons.”

Hyland went on to say, “Sean’s future in coaching is certainly bright and I’m looking forward to the great things he will bring to the table for us heading into next season.”

Sean Clores joined the Bloodhounds during the summer of 2015 and helped recruit back to back CUNYAC Rookies of the Year over the past two seasons. His impact on the day to day operations of the program have been instrumental towards carrying out Hyland’s vision for the Bloodhounds heading into the 2017-18 season.

“I am grateful to Ryan and Director Kashow for their belief in me, and I am looking forward to continuing the process of building a contender here at John Jay,” Clores said.

Sean Clores joined the John Jay staff in July 2015 after working at Chaminade High School in Mineola, NY as an English teacher and guidance counselor from 2012-2015. Prior to his time at Chaminade, Clores worked for Passionist Volunteers International, where he served as the varsity basketball coach for Black River High School in Jamaica, West Indies for two seasons.
