According to a report in the El Paso Times, UTEP has interviewed seven candidates so far in their search for a new basketball coach. According to the report, the seven are:

• Joe Dooley – Head Coach Florida Gulf Coast
• Steve Forbes – Head Coach East Tennessee State
• Greg Foster – Milwaukee Bucks Assistant (UTEP Alum)
• Ray Harper – Head Coach – Jacksonville State
• Chris Ogden – Assistant Coach – Texas Tech
• Randy Rahe – Head Coach Weber State
• Rodney Terry – Head Coach Fresno State
