I have heard from a great source that Lamar head coach Tic Price will hire David Dumars as an assistant coach. He would replace Justin Bailey who became the head coach at Arkansas Fort Smith earlier this summer.

Dumars and Price go way back. They were assistants together on Ron Everhart’s staff at McNeese State in 2000-01, and Price retained Dumars when he was elevated to head coach (2001-06). Dumars then stayed at McNeese State until a coaching change was made this past spring.

Dumars, who played briefly for the NY Jets, is the older brother of Detroit Pistons Legend Joe Dumars.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
