  • An automatic one-year extension will be invoked for Colorado head coach Tad Boyle according to Buffzone.com. The report says that, “the one-year extension is automatically invoked unless one side — either Boyle and his agent, or the university — gives notice about opting out of the extension prior to Dec. 31 each year. CU athletic director Rick George confirmed to BuffZone.com neither side gave notice before the recent deadline, adding another year to a contract that pays Boyle a shade under $1.425 million per year in base and supplemental salary.” More details on Boyle’s extension can be found HERE.

  • Kent State head coach Rob Senderoff recently became the winningest head basketball coach in program history. He now has 151 wins in his seven plus season as the Golden Flashes head coach. The previous school record was held by Jim McDonald who coached KSU basketball from 1982 until his retirement in 1992. Senderoff has led Kent State to the postseason in all of his seven seasons at the helm.

  • Becker College head coach Brian Gorman won the 200th game of his career last night with an 82-66 win over visiting Mitchell college. Gorman has coached the Hawks since the 2008-2009 season, capturing two NECC championships and reaching the NCAA DIII Tournament three times. Gorman has been voted the NECC Coach of the Year on five occasions.  

  • HoopDirt.com reported yesterday that Indian Hills head coach Hank Plona had been arrested for drunk driving. The college has now announced that Plona will not be present for the next two Warrior basketball games. More on this one from the Ottumwa Courier HERE.
