  • Former Arizona assistant coach Book Richardson has filed a plea agreement with federal attorneys in New York over his federal bribery and fraud charges stemming from the college basketball investigation. Richardson becomes the second coach involved in this case plead guilty in the past week, as former USC associate head coach Tony Bland also entered a guilty plea. Richardson could face is between 18-24 months in prison. More on this from AZCentral HERE.

  • Congrats to Yale head coach James Jones for receiving the “Polly Sweeten Excellence in Sports Award.” He accepted the award at the 11th Annual Farnam Community Sports Celebrity Breakfast yesterday. More on Jones and the honor that he received HERE.

  • Missed this one from last week…Wes Miller has become the all-time leader in wins at UNC Greensboro. In his eighth season at UNCG, the 35-year-old Miller is now 125-112. He passed Mike Dement, who went 124-181 in two stints as UNCG’s head coach.

  • Another milestone win…Palm Beach State head coach Martin McCann won the 100th game in his career. In his 5th season as the head coach at PBSC,  the 29-year old is now 100-37.

  • Bellarmine University assistant coach Felton Spencer was arrested over the weekend and charged with drunken driving. Spencer, a former standout at Louisville, was the #6 pick in the 1990 NBA Draft by Minnesota. He spent 12 seasons in the NBA and has been on the Bellarmine staff since  2016.   • Unfortunately Spencer wasn’t the only coach who was charged with DUI over the past few days… Indian Hills Head Basketball Coach Hank Plona was charged early Monday morning with operating while intoxicated after testing for more than twice the legal limit. From the Ottumwa Courier, “Police charged Plona with operating while intoxicated second offense. It was not immediately clear when or where the first offense took place.” The full story can be found HERE.
