According to a report by Jeff Goodman, Wichita State is expected to part ways with embattled head coach Gregg Marshall by the end of the week. CBS Sports has also confirmed the report.

Marshall has been under investigation by the school for the past month, following allegations that he verbally and physically abused players, staff, and WSU students.

Allegations brought to light by The Athletic include punching former player Shaq Morris during practice in 2015, choking assistant coach Kyle Lindsted during the 2016-17 season, and a road rage incident with a student-athlete who had parked in Marshall’s space.

According to a second report by Stadium, Marshall made racially insensitive to multiple players, including Poor Bear-Chandler who is of Native-American descent, and Jaime Echenique who is from Columbia.

In his 13 seasons at WSU, Marshall has gone 331-121 (.732), including 23-8 mark during the 2019-20 season. The winningest coach in program history, Marshall also led the Shockers to the 2013 Final Four. However, this spring, seven players have transferred from the Shockers program.
