New Orleans head men’s basketball coach Mark Slessinger has announced the promotion of Cory Dixon to director of basketball operations/on-campus recruiting, and the promotion of Bradley Feig to video and analytics coordinator.
The UNO alum (class of 2014) joined the staff last season as the director of player development/internal operations following his professional playing days.
“We are excited to move Cory into a new role with additional responsibilities within our program,” said Slessinger. In 2019-20, Dixon assisted with team travel, game day operations, student-athlete development and community service.
“Cory had great experiences as both a student-athletes at UNO and his time playing professionally,” added Slessinger. “It has been great to see him begin his life dream of giving back to others via basketball. To see it come full circle and have Cory plant roots here in New Orleans is special.”
An All-Southland Conference student-athlete in 2014, Dixon averaged 13.5 points and 7.7 rebounds as a senior. He spent two seasons on the Lakefront and following his graduation, he played professionally in Australia, England, Belgium and Canada.
Dixon is currently pursuing a master’s degree in educational leadership.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to continue to grow and give back to my alma mater,” said Dixon. “Paying it forward has always been my goal and it is a blessing to be able to do so.”
Feig is in his fourth year with the Privateers after serving as head manager while completing his undergraduate degree at the University of New Orleans.
He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration after earning summa cum laude honors in the May 2020 virtual graduation.
“Bradley’s development over his three seasons with us has been tremendous,” said Slessinger. “He is a hard worker who goes above and beyond to help our program. He has a great passion for the game and will thrive in his new role with video, analytics and internal operations.”
During his time as manager (2017-20), Feig assisted with team travel and summer camps.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue my professional growth and learn from an incredible coaching staff,” said Feig. “I’m looking forward to competing for another championship this season.”
