William Woods University head men’s basketball coach James Hays has resigned his position to pursue other opportunities. A search for his replacement has begun.

Hays served as the Interim head coach during the 2017-18 season. During his three seasons, the Owls went 52-38. The 2018-19 season came to an end last night with a loss in the quarterfinals of the American Midwest Conference tournament.
