Some things I post to the website, others I just share on social media. This celebration is special, and I wanted to make sure those who aren’t on social media have a chance to see it.
Texas State named Terrence Johnson as their interim head men’s basketball coach after Danny Kaspar was placed on leave last June, and subsequently resigned in September.
The Bobcats, who were picked to finish 5th in the Sun Belt, captured the league regular season championship last night with a 58-49 win over Louisiana Monroe. TSU is now 17-7 (11-3), and became conference champions for the first time since winning the Southland Conference in 1999.
Unfortunately, due to COVID protocols, Johnson was unable to coach the team last night during their championship clinching win. What happened after the game was truly special. Johnson was at the arena, watching the game from outside in his car.
I think it’s about time to remove the interim tag, don’t you??
