In yesterday’s Daily Dirt, I mentioned that Florida assistant Jordan Mincy had interviewed at Jacksonville. Now, according to a report by Pete Thamel, Mincy will be in fact named as JU’s new head basketball coach.
Mincy, a Memphis native, has been at Florida for the past five seasons, and also worked as assistant at Louisiana Tech, Toledo, College of Charleston, and Kent State. He played collegiately at Kent State, and got started in the coaching business as a graduate assistant at South Carolina in 2009.
Mincy would replace Tony Jasick who was fired back on March 8th, after going 95-122 during his seven year tenure.
More on this when it becomes official.
