I have heard from multiple sources that Tufts University (MA) will hire Brandon Linton as their new head men’s basketball coach. The current head coach at Nichols College (MA) will replace Bob Sheldon, who retired after 33 seasons at the helm of the Jumbo’s back in October.
Linton had been at Nichols for the past two seasons. He went 21-9 (12-4) back in 2019-20, and led the Bison to a 5-5 mark during the COVID shortened 2020-21 campaign.
Before becoming a head coach, Linton spent five seasons as an assistant at Army. Following the 2014-15 season, he was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches ’30-Under-30’ Team. The 2010 Clarkson grad also spent time as an assistant at his alma mater (2010-12), and at Bowdoin College (2012-14).
An official announcement is expected early this week.
