Lincoln College men’s basketball will have a new name at the helm for the 2021-22 season as Athletic Director, Mark Perdue has named Edwind McGhee head coach. McGhee joined the Lynx coaching staff in 2018 as the Head Men’s JV Coach and the assistant varsity coach.
McGhee is a DePaul University graduate where he played for the Blue Demons from 2010-2014. McGhee then stayed at DePaul for two years serving as the Graduate Manager for the men’s basketball team.
Before joining the Lynx, Coach McGhee began his coaching career for two seasons as the national post graduate Head Coach at Victory Rock Prep in Bradenton, Florida. During the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons, McGhee also served as the Associate Head Coach of the Victory Rock Prep National team, helping them claim the 2018 Grind Session World Championship. During his time in Florida, McGhee was also the head coach of the 17U Florida Sons AAU program, where he coached several Division 1 athletes in his two years. He currently has athletes playing for programs such as Ohio State, California Berkeley, UMass, University of South Florida and more.
McGhee will replace Coach Pat Lepper after 9 seasons at the helm for the Lynx. Lepper has accepted a position as the Assistant to the Head Coach at Purdue University-Fort Wayne, his Alma Mater. Lepper has already began his duties in Fort Wayne. We would like to congratulate and say thank you to Coach Lepper for his dedication and success during his time at Lincoln College.
Perdue simply said this about the hiring, “this was an easy decision for us to name Edwind the head coach. He has been a great assistant coach for us over the years and has truly been an asset to the athletic department as a whole. I am confident he will continue to excel here at Lincoln College.”
