Holy Cross adds Richards as DBO

The College of the Holy Cross has named Anthony Richards its new director of men’s basketball operations, as announced by head coach Brett Nelson. Richards’ primary responsibilities will include serving as the team’s travel and video coordinator, in addition to heavy involvement in recruiting efforts, scheduling and day-to-day office duties.

Richards joins the Crusaders after spending the last three years on the men’s basketball staff at the University of Arizona. He joined the Wildcats as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2018, before taking over as the director of student-athlete development in the summer of 2019. For the last two years, Richards served as the program’s liaison with the academic and compliance offices, in addition to overseeing the team’s undergraduate managers.

A native of New Castle, Pa., Richards was a two-year starter and three-year letterwinner for the men’s basketball team at Le Moyne College. He totaled 503 points and 138 assists in his career with the Dolphins, while helping the team to an overall record of 59-31, the 2018 Northeast-10 Conference championship and a trip to the 2018 NCAA Division II quarterfinals.

Richards earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Le Moyne in 2018 and his master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Arizona in 2020.
