Chris Vincent has joined the University of Fort Lauderdale Men’s Basketball staff under Head Coach Anthony Anderson. Vincent comes to UFTL after previously being on the men’s basketball staff at Southern Mississippi University.

“An opportunity to coach with a young and upcoming coach that gets it,” Anderson stated. “I love it. He can recruit, and he knows the Xs and Os. That is very rare these days. Coach Vincent will not be here long, so we will enjoy him while we have him. He is relentless on the recruiting trail and in the gym.”

During his time in Hattiesburg, Vincent conducted scouts for all opponents throughout the year, coordinating with assigned assistants. He managed individual workouts, one on one meetings with players for player development. Vincent managed team film sessions for practices and games, and he maintained Southern Mississippi’s recruiting database.

Vincent had a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Miami Dade College, where he had eight players sign to Division I schools and developed 11 All-Southern Conference performers. The program also saw an eight-win increase during his time.

“Coming back to South Florida to work for Coach Anderson was a no-brainer for me,” said Vincent. “The work ethic and passion he has to get programs to the top in such a short period is unbelievable as a coach; that’s what you want to be a part of. We work unbelievably together, and his resume speaks for itself with almost 30 years at the highest D1 level and so forth. There’s no one I’d want to work for other than him right now at this point in my career. We have a great thing going here at the University of Fort Lauderdale, and I’m excited for what the future holds.”

Vincent was in the Ivy League ranks for three years as Yale’s Director of Basketball Operations. The Bulldogs made the 2016 NCAA Tournament, where they knocked off No. 3-seed Baylor and finished 23-7 (13-1 in conference play).

He was also the video coordinator at Delaware for the 2014-15 season, assistant head coach at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy from 2013-14, and an assistant at American International College from 2010-12. The 2011 squad made the NCAA Tournament and finished 20-9.

Vincent earned his degree in sports management from Springfield College (Mass.) in 2013.
