University of Arizona assistant men’s basketball coach Mark Phelps has been placed on administrative leave. His attorney Donald Maurice Jackson released the following statement via Facebook:

This is Phelps fourth season on Sean Miller’s staff. He had previously served as the head coach at Drake from 2008-13 (77-86), and also worked as an assistant at Marquette, Missouri, Arizona State, and NC State.

According to a report by Stadium’s Jeff Goodman, the Phelps case involves “an online course involving a recruit who never wound up attending Arizona.”
