It sounds like Arkansas has whiffed again on another target, as I have heard that Wichita State’s Gregg Marshall has spurned the Razorbacks.
Here’s what’s happened so far in this one…
Shortly after Mike Anderson was fired, there was a lot of speculation that Kelvin Sampson would be the choice here – mostly due to the fact that Razorbacks AD Hunter Yurachek hired Sampson at Houston. Obviously Sampson is now off the market after inking an extension at UH earlier this week.
Focus then seemed to turn to Nevada’s Eric Musselman and really ramped up with Marshall. While the Musselman chatter is starting to cool off, it sounds like Marshall is now out of the mix, after a whirwind romance.
Where does Arkansas go next?
Obviously Chris Beard has been mentioned here, but would he leave Texas Tech after the season they’ve had?? Other names include Minnesota’s Richard Pitino, former UCLA head coach Steve Alford, and a very outside chance that they may kick the tires on Iowa’s Fran McCaffery.
I’ve got to ask…was firing Mike Anderson worth all of this?
More on this search as I hear it.
