The University of Detroit named their court in honor of Dick Vitale at a ceremony before their contest with St. John’s last night. It sounds like IUPUI assistant Matt Whinrey has accepted a video spot with the Cleveland Cavaliers. I have two great sources who have confirmed this move. He joined the IUPUI staff in September 2010. Definitely a strange time to make a move, but with the lock-out over, the NBA teams are starting to hire.

I’ve heard from multiple sources that Mike Smith is no longer on the staff at Kennesaw State. He was hired by new head coach Lewis Preston in June of this year after working as an assistant at Jacksonville State. I’m still trying to dig to find out what happened, but Smith is no longer listed
