Sounds like Danny Hurley will be named the next head coach at Wagner. An official announcement will be made sometime today. This makes the most sense; we will keep you posted when it becomes official.
Assistants on the move in NYC
Here is what I’ve heard surround some NYC area assistants spots…. Drexel assistant Tony Chiles will be hired by Steve Lavin at St. John’s. Sources are telling us that former BU coach Dennis Wolf has already interviewed for the open position. Next up is UMass Lowell head coach Greg Hernda, he will be meeting with Dick Regan on Monday.
Mooney Staying at Richmond
Chris Mooney withdrew as a candidate at Boston College to sign a contract extension at Richmond through the 2016-17 season. The contract will likely pay him around 700k a season.
Theus Interviewed at DePaul
Former Bulls star Reggie Theus interviewed for the DePaul job yesterday. Theus’ resume includes experience coaching in the NBA as a head coach with the Kings and currently as an assistant with the Timberwolves. He was also the head coach at New Mexico State for two years were he went 41-23.
