Bailey Miles Joins Furman Staff

Bailey Miles has joined the Furman men’s basketball staff for the 2015-16 campaign as assistant to the head coach, it was announced by Paladin head coach Niko Medved.

Miles served as the head manager/student assistant for Furman during his freshman year in 2011-2012 before transferring back home to Oklahoma State University and serving a brief stint as the assistant video coordinator for the Cowboys men’s basketball team. During his time as a student at Oklahoma State, Miles coached youth teams for the Stillwater Parks and Recreation and Upward Basketball organizations. He was also the coach for a competitive youth team, the Tulsa Sonics.

“I thank God and am truly humbled to have the opportunity to serve the Furman men’s basketball program,” Miles said. “Coach Medved is a tremendous person and coach, along with the rest of the staff, and I am looking forward to serving and learning from them.”

Miles has worked at various camps in the summers, including Virginia, Gonzaga, Butler, Kansas, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Washington, VCU, Oral Roberts, Winthrop, and Furman. During the summer of 2015, he served on the support staff for the USA Basketball U16 Training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo. He has also been able to attend the OKC Thunder and Blue training camps.

“We are thrilled to have a person with Bailey’s character and talent join our staff,” said Medved. “He had several opportunities to get into college coaching and we are lucky he came to help us.”

Miles is a native of Tulsa, Okla., where he attended Holland Hall. During his time at Holland Hall he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. Miles graduated in May of 2015 from Oklahoma State University with a degree in business management and minor in marketing.
