Justin Bailey is out as the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Bailey was placed on administrative leave back in early January. UAFS released the following statement earlier today:
“Justin Bailey, head men’s basketball coach at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, is no longer employed by the university. Because this is a personnel matter, the university is unable to provide further information.”
Bailey was hired as the head coach at UAFS back on June 29th after a two year stint as an assistant at Lamar. The Fort Smith native played for the Lions, and spent time on the staff as an assistant coach.
Director of Athletics Curtis Janz has coached the team for the past ten games, and will finish the season before starting a search.
