Beilein set to resign at Niagara

According to multiple reports, and confirmed by our sources, Patrick Beilein will resign at Niagara before ever coaching a game there. There has been no reason given yet for the sudden resignation.

Beilein was hired as the head coach of the Purple Eagles back in late March after a very successful run at DII LeMoyne College. The son of Cleveland Cavaliers head coach John Beilein, the younger Beilein was a two-time NE-10 Coach of the Year, and compiled a 77-41 record during his tenure at LeMoyne.

Word on the street is that assistant coach Greg Paulus will be named as the interim head coach. The former Duke standout has previously served on the basketball staffs George Washington, Louisville, Ohio State and Navy.

More on this one when it becomes official.
