Benedictine names assistant

Benedictine University and the Department of Athletics has announced the hiring of Kaniela Aiona as assistant men’s basketball coach. Aiona joins the Eagles after working for ClibHoops Basketball Scouting Service and serving as the head basketball coach at East Bank Club in Chicago. He began his coaching career at Central Methodist University, where he served as a graduate assistant from 2006-2008 and earned a master’s degree in Education. He was the assistant men’s basketball coach at Lake Forest College from 2008-2010 where he was responsible for recruiting, scouting, player development, basketball operations and creating a strength and condition program.
