Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)
Earlier today in the DAILY DIRT, I mentioned that D2 Colorado Mesa head coach Mike DeGeorge was the leader at Cal Poly. I have now confirmed that DeGeorge has accepted the position.
This past season, DeGeorge led Mesa to a 29-5 (21-1 RMAC record). In his six seasons as the Mavericks head coach, he has put together a 141-43 (.766) record including five straight 21+ win seasons.
DeGeorge has also worked as the head coach at three D3’s – Rhodes College (2010-18), Cornell College (2004-09), and Eureka College (2000-04). In 23-seasons as a head coach, DeGeorge owns a 336-291 (.536) career mark.
DeGeorge would replace John Smith who was dismissed back on March 1st.
