McMurry University is proud to announce Matt Bolton’s appointment as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach.
Bolton brings a strong coaching background and a proven track record of success to the War Hawks program. His most recent position was Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of the Ozarks, where he demonstrated his ability to improve team performance and foster a positive team culture.
During his tenure at Ozarks, Bolton improved the team’s win total each season, coached two one-thousand-point scorers, and saw seven players receive all-conference selections. He also emphasized academic success, raising the team’s GPA and receiving the NABC award for academic excellence.
Bolton’s experience also includes serving as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of the Ozarks and an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Cazenovia College. He also gained experience as a Graduate Assistant at Ohio University.
Bolton holds a Master’s in Coaching Education from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Science in Business and Sports Management from Keuka College.
