Cal State San Marcos head men’s basketball coach Nick Booker has resigned. It sounds like he will most likely end up on the staff at Cal Irvine (he was formerly an assistant there). Here is the announcement on Booker’s departure from CSUSM:
Nick Booker has resigned as head coach of the Cal State San Marcos men’s basketball program to pursue other opportunities, CSUSM Director of Athletics Morod Shah announced.
“We thank Coach Booker for leading our men’s basketball program the last two academic years on the court, in the classroom and in our community,” Shah said. “We wish him luck in the next chapter of his career.”
A national search for CSUSM’s next head coach will begin immediately.
Booker went 16-40 (.286) in his two seasons as the Cougars head coach. He has also worked at UC San Diego, Eastern Washington, and at his alma mater Davidson.
