According to multiple reports, Patrick Ewing will be named as the next head basketball coach at Georgetown. He will replace John Thompson III who was fired earlier this spring. A former standout at Georgetown, he led the Hoyas to three Final Fours and the 1984 NCAA national championship. The eleven time NBA All-Star and Hall-of-Famer scored more than 24,000 points and collected over 11,000 rebounds in the league. He also made two trips to the NBA Finals with the Knicks, and won two Olympic gold medals. Ewing has spent the past 15 years as an assistant coach in the NBA following his retirement.
