HoopDirt has learned that former USC assistant Gib Arnold will be named as the head coach at Hawaii. The official announcement is expected to be made today. Arnold’s father Frank was the head coach at Hawaii for two seasons in the 80’s and Gib attended a local high school for his junior and senior years. This will be Arnold’s first gig as a DI head coach – he was the head coach at College of Southern Idaho (a JC), and has been an assistant at USC, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, Vanderbilt, and Utah Valley. I’ll posted the official link when the announcement is made.
