Thanks to great sources who had HoopDirt.com out in front of this one earlier this week. We reported on Tuesday that Tennessee Martin Head Coach Heath Schroyer was offered an assistant spot at NC State. Today, he has resigned at UTM in order to accept the position.
In his two seasons at UTM, Schroyer has put together back-to-back 20 win seasons. He has also been the head coach at Wyoming and Portland State, and served as an assistant at UNLV.
The spot at NC State opened when Bobby Lutz stepped down to accept an administrative spot within the athletic department. Originally, FGCU head coach Joe Dooley was rumored to be involved in the position.
An official announcement is expected shortly.
