According to multiple reports, and first reported by Adam Zagoria, Steve Masiello is no longer the head basketball coach at Manhattan.
Masiello was about to begin his 12th season as the Jaspers head coach, and wraps up his tenure with a 162-177 (.478) record. Before taking over at Manhattan, he served as an assistant at Louisville (2005-11).
Back in 2014, Masiello accepted the South Florida job, but later had the offer rescinded after it was discovered he did not graduate from Kentucky (as his resume said). He returned to Manhattan and served a suspension before being reinstated.
Manhattan is scheduled to open their regular season on November 7th at VCU. The Jaspers were picked 2nd in the MAAC pre-season poll, with 5th-year forward Jose Perez being tabbed as the MAAC pre-season player of the year.
