Bucknell Dirt…

I have heard from multiple sources over the past 24 hours that the Bucknell search has been narrowed down to 5-6 candidates.  It sounds like interviews will wrap up this week, and a decision could be made by Friday.  The names that I’ve heard are:

Jamion Christian – Head Coach Mount St. Mary’s.  Has been at The Mount for the past three seasons (49-46).  Was an assistant to Shaka Smart at VCU before that.  Spent 2006-2008 as the DBO at Bucknell.

Carl Danzig – Head Coach University of Scranton.  Spent 11 seasons as an assistant at Bucknell before taking over at Scranton in 2001.  Has won 268 games in his 14 years as a head coach.  Worked at Bucknell for both Charlie Woollum and Pat Flannery.

Jim Engles – Head Coach NJIT.  Won 21 games this past season at NJIT and advanced to the semi-finals of the Collegeinsider.com post-season tournament.  Has been the head coach of the Highlanders since 2008.  Engles has also been an assistant at Wagner, Rider, and Columbia.

Dane Fischer – Associate Head Coach Bucknell.  Has spent the past seven seasons with Dave Paulsen at Bucknell.  Was also an assistant to Paulsen at Williams College.  Spent three seasons as an assistant at Rider.

Martin Inglesby – Assistant Coach Notre Dame.  A former Fighting Irish point guard.  Has been on Mike Brey’s staff for the past 12 years – the last six as an assistant.  Inglesby is a Philadelphia native.

I have also heard that there is also a Big Ten assistant in this group.  Will pass along his info when I can.
