Colgate Men’s Basketball Staff Update

Colgate head men’s basketball coach Matt Langel has announced the hiring of Pat Moore as an assistant coach, and Patrick Stasiak as the Director of Basketball Operations.

Pat Moore

Moore, a Colgate alum, returned to the Raiders in 2017-18 as the director of basketball operations. His primary responsibilities included coordinating game film, evaluating and recruiting prospective student-athletes, and corresponding with the team’s day-to-day operations.

Prior to coming back to his alma mater, Moore spent two seasons as the assistant men’s basketball coach at local Morrisville State College. He helped lead the 2016-17 team to a NEAC Championship and NCAA Appearance as the Mustangs finished the season with a 22-7 record. While at Morrisville, Moore was responsible for game day preparation, opponent scouting, and assisting in the supervision of the players’ academics.

A native of nearby Whitesboro, N.Y., Moore spent five seasons (2010-2015) as a student-athlete in the Maroon and White. A three-year starting shooting guard and two-time team captain, he stands second all-time in Colgate history in career three-point percentage (40.6%) and fifth in career three-point field goals made (188).

Moore helped change the culture of the Raiders by increasing win totals in each of his years as a student-athlete. He led Colgate to its best season since 1996 and a program-record number of Patriot League wins as a senior in 2014-15. Moore finished his career with 923 points. Strong off the court as well, the history and sociology/anthropology double major earned Dean’s List distinction and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll status twice during his Colgate career.

Patrick Stasiak

Stasiak comes to Colgate after spending two seasons working with the men’s baskeball program at his alma mater SUNY Cortland. As an assistant coach in 2017-18, he played an integral role in developing three All-Conference honorees. His primary responsibilities included recruiting student-athletes, scouting and game preparation, film coordination, on-floor coaching, and various operational duties.

Prior to being elevated to an assistant coach, Stasiak was a student assistant during the 2016-17 campaign and aided the team in scouting and recruiting, while also managing film operations in practices and games.

In 2015, Stasiak served as the housing director and assistant head runner for Hoop Group Elite Camp in Reading, Pennsylvania. He coordinated room assignments for athletes, coaches, and staff members along with film operations and assistance in day-to-day camp operations.

The Cortland alumnus was the head coach of the Cortland AAU Basketball U-12 team and assisted the U-17 team during the 2014-15 season.

A native of Williamsville, N.Y., Stasiak graduated from SUNY Cortland in May 2017 with a degree in Childhood Education and a concentration in Social Science.
