I have heard from some pretty good sources on this one…it sounds like the College of Charleston is down to two finalists to replace Doug Wojcik. The two names that the search committee has recommended are Wofford head coach Mike Young, and New Orleans Pelicans scout (and former C of C standout) Anthony Johnson. They apparently were selected from a group of six that also included Virginia associate head coach Ritchie McKay, NC State associate head coach Bobby Lutz, Clemson assistant Earl Grant, and UConn assistant Karl Hobbs. According to a few guys close to the situation, AJ is the candidate who brings the most alumni and athletic department support, but they are quick to say not to discount the strength of Young’s candidacy. It sounds like the announcement here is imminent. I’ll keep you updated as I hear more.
