Conroy joins South Alabama Basketball Staff

Riley Conroy will join the South Alabama men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach, head coach Richie Riley announced Tuesday afternoon.

Conroy comes to Mobile after spending four seasons at Southeastern Louisiana. Conroy spent his first season with the Lions as the Director of Recruiting and Basketball Operations and served as an assistant coach for the last three seasons.

During his time at Southeastern Louisiana, Conroy was responsible for the skill development of the guards, and helped coach Boogie Anderson, a 2023 First Team All-Southland selection. He also assisted with scouting reports, recruited and signed Southeastern Louisiana’s first state Gatorade Player of the Year.

While with the Lions, Conroy helped coach the team to 45 wins in his three years as an assistant. As the Director of Recruiting and Operations, he managed scheduling, scouting and academics.

Prior to his stint at Southeastern Louisiana, Conroy spent one season as an assistant basketball coach at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas.

Before entering the coaching ranks, Conroy played three seasons at Tulane University.

Conroy graduated from Tulane with degrees in Business Management and Business Marketing and obtained his MBA with a specialty in Sports Administration from FAU in 2020.
