Cornell University has announced that the contract of Big Red men’s basketball coach Bill Courtney has not been renewed. A national search for his successor will begin immediately.
Courtney guided the Big Red for six seasons, compiling a 60-113 overall record and a 27-57 Ivy League mark. He coached or recruited seven All-Ivy League selections, two Ivy League Rookies of the Year, a Capital One Academic All-American and two of the top 20 scorers in school history.
“I appreciate Coach Courtney’s diligent efforts and his dedication to our student-athletes over the past six years,” said Andy Noel, the Meakem*Smith Director of Athletics and Physical Education. “He is a first-class individual and I wish him success in his future endeavors.”
