Crass resigns as Head Coach at Otero; Becomes assistant at Abilene Christian

After two successful seasons serving as the head men’s basketball coach at Otero College, a member of the NJCAA, in La Junta, Colo. Ted Crass will make his return to Abilene. He will fill the place of Kyle Bankhead who will be moving to a new role within the University of San Francisco men’s basketball program.

In just two seasons with the Rattlers, coach Crass compiled a 39-12 (.765) record and made a significant improvement year-over-year. In the pandemic complicated season of 2020-21, Crass led the team to a 15-5 record and a spot in the Region IX quarterfinals. Just a year later, the team went 24-7 (including 16-1 on their home court), and this time made an appearance in the Region IX Championship game falling just short of a national tournament berth. Crass helped to improve his team in six different statistical categories between his first and second year, and his team ranked in the top-15 in the NJCAA in three different categories this season.
