I can confirm that D2 Allen University (SC) head men’s basketball coach Michael Grant will step down in order to become the associate director of athletics at D2 Morehouse College. Grant, the former head coach at Coppin State and Southern University took over at Allen this past spring.

Grant has spent 18 years as a head coach at the college level. In addition to his stints at Coppin State (2014-17) and Southern (2003-05), he has also served as the head coach at Stillman College (2008-14), and Central State (1996-2003). He has also worked as a D1 assistant at Cleveland State and Toledo.

Allen, formerly an NAIA school, will be transitioning to the NCAA D2 level and competing in the SIAC.
