Following up on my Tweet from Monday, I have heard from multiple sources that the next head men’s basketball coach at D2 Arkansas Monticello will be NAIA Lyon College (ARK) coach Chad Tapp. He will replace Kyle Tolin who departed for Texas Permian Basin last week.

Tapp had been the head coach at Lyon since 2013. This past season, Tapp’s squad captured the American Midwest Conference regular season title and led the nation in fewest points allowed per game.

Before taking over at Lyon, Tapp had spent three seasons as the head coach at Indiana University South Bend.

The official announcement is expected on Friday.
