I can confirm that D2 Clayton State will hire Carl Little as their new head men’s basketball coach.
Little spent last season as an assistant at D2 Columbus State after previous stops as an assistant coach and Director of Basketball Operations at Austin Peay from 2021-23. He also served an earlier stint on the Columbus State staff from 2013-17 and was the Director of Player Development at North Carolina Central.
A retired U.S. Air Force and Army officer, Little has also enjoyed success on the international and military basketball stage. As head coach of the All-Army Men’s Basketball Team, he guided the program to back-to-back Armed Forces Tournament titles. He also helped lead Team USA to a gold medal at the 2017 Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe International Basketball Tournament.
Recently, Little was inducted into the Military Basketball Hall of Fame.
An official announcement is expected soon.
