I teased this one on Twitter yesterday – I can now confirm that Fredrick Summers is no longer the head men’s basketball coach at D2 Edward Waters University (SIAC).

Summers was hired as the head coach at EWU back in 2018, after a short stint as the head coach at Talladega College (AL). He had also served as the head women’s basketball coach at Concordia College (AL) where he won the USCAA National Championship in 2016-17. Last season, Summers led the Tigers to a 16-14 record.

It sounds like assistant coach Howard White, Jr. has been promoted to interim head coach.

EWU began its three-year provisional D2 process in 2021, and is on track to be a full-time member in 2024.
