I have heard from multiple sources that Larry Davis is no longer the head men’s basketball coach at D2 Mars Hill.
Davis had been at Mars Hill since 2022, where he went 19-62 (.235). Prior to his time at MHU, he was the head coach at York Prep (SC), and also spent time at the college level as the DBO at James Madison, and an assistant at Newberry.
While in college, Davis was a member of North Carolina’s 1993 National Championship team. He later transferred to the University of South Carolina and was their leading scorer during the 1995-96 season. Davis was also “Mr. Basketball” as a high schooler in South Carolina in 1991.
I’ve also heard that Mars Hill is moving quickly here, with on campus interviews set for as early as this week.
More on this move once an official announcement is made.
