I teased this one a bit on Twitter last night. It’s now done. Metro State will hire Belmont Abbey’s Dan Ficke as their new head men’s basketball coach, with the official announcement coming this afternoon.

Ficke is no stranger to the Denver area, having served as an assistant at the University of Denver for four seasons before taking over at Belmont Abbey.

During his three seasons at Belmont Abbey, Ficke went 61-25 (.709), including a 22-10 (17-7) record this past season. He has also worked as an assistant at his alma mater Loyola (MD), and as an administrative staffer at Wake Forest.
